Alchemy Flights Buying Guide
Alchemy flights are printed art flights for players who want dark, gothic or fantasy artwork on their darts instead of a plain color. They slide into any shaft with a standard flight slot and work for both steel tip and soft tip play. Designs run from copper and silver skull prints to full-color reapers, dragons and unicorns. For more styles, browse all dart flights.
What Alchemy flight designs are there?
Alchemy designs fall into two groups:
- Copper and silver prints: detailed skull and dark designs in copper or silver tones, such as Pentacle Skull in copper and Bring Out Your Dead in silver. Copper reads warmer, silver cooler.
- Full-color illustrations: bold artwork on black, blue, red or off-white backgrounds, such as the Red Dragon, a reaper on red, skull and roses and a white unicorn.
Several designs come in more than one version, so check the item number before reordering a favorite.
Will Alchemy flights fit my shafts?
Yes, on any shaft with a standard flight slot, from any brand. Changing one takes seconds and does not touch your barrel.
They do not fit systems with their own flight mount: Cosmo Fit Shafts take Fit Flights only, and Condor units are a one-piece flight and shaft. Good standard matches include our Nylon Shaft and Aluminum Powder Coated Shaft, both with a 2BA thread.
How do I keep art flights looking good?
Protect the edges and keep the flight seated, since a bent or torn flight is the first thing to spoil a design.
- A metal flight protector keeps fins square and stops flights getting crushed in a case.
- Champagne Rings cap nylon shafts and prevent robin-hooding.
- A case that holds darts assembled without crushing flights, like the Casemaster Sentry, keeps prints flat between games.
Flights wear out long before barrels, so buy two or three sets of a design you like.
How do Alchemy flights compare with longer-lasting flights?
Pick Alchemy flights for the artwork, and pick a flight with a stated thickness when durability is the priority. Alchemy listings do not give a micron rating. For printed designs on a known film, Rock Hard Flights use 100 micron film in standard or slim, and Hard Poly Flights use a stiffer poly that resists bending and cracking. For our own house line, try Laserdart Flights.
