Choosing darts
What is the difference between steel tip and soft tip darts?
Steel tip darts have a fixed metal point and are thrown at a bristle (sisal) dartboard. That is the traditional format used by most leagues and by the professional tours.
Soft tip darts have a flexible plastic point and are thrown at an electronic dartboard. The plastic tip triggers the board's sensors so the game scores itself. Soft tip darts are also weight-limited, typically 16 to 20 grams, because electronic boards are built for lighter darts.
Browse steel tip darts or soft tip darts.
What weight dart should I use?
There is no single correct answer, which is exactly why we run the lending library. Most steel tip players land somewhere between 22 and 26 grams, and most soft tip players between 16 and 20 grams, but grip and balance matter as much as weight.
The best way to find yours is to throw a few. Our Dart Lending Library lets you borrow real sets for 10 business days, keep what works, and only pay for what you keep.
What does the barrel material change?
Brass is the most affordable and the thickest for a given weight. Nickel silver sits in the middle. Tungsten alloy is the densest, so a tungsten barrel of the same weight is noticeably slimmer, which lets three darts group more tightly in the board. Higher tungsten percentages mean slimmer barrels.
Ordering
Is it safe to use a credit card on this site?
Yes. Checkout runs on Shopify's PCI-compliant, fully encrypted checkout. Card details are handled by Shopify's payment processor and are never stored on our servers or visible to our staff.
Can I order by phone instead of online?
Absolutely. Call 1-800-542-3278 Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central, and we will take the order and answer questions while you are on the line.
Is there a minimum order size?
No. Retail orders can be any size, from a single set of flights up. Wholesale accounts have their own terms — see Become a Dealer.
Shipping
How soon will my order ship?
All orders ship within 48 business hours of payment, and most leave our warehouse within 24 hours. Orders prepaid by check are held until we have bank clearance.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free standard U.S. shipping on qualifying retail orders over $75. Dartboards and other large items are excluded. Full detail is on our Shipping and Returns page.
Are USPS delivery dates guaranteed?
No. All USPS delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. If you need an order by a specific date, choose a FedEx option at checkout.
Do you backorder items?
Normally no. Our inventory is deep enough that we are rarely out of stock. If something on your order is temporarily unavailable we will tell you immediately, along with when it is expected back. We never substitute an item you did not order.
Returns and warranty
What is your return policy?
We guarantee all items against defects and have a seven (7) day return policy. Returned products must be unused, in original packaging, and returned at the buyer's expense. A 15% restocking fee applies to non-defective returns, and shipping charges are not refundable. Call 1-800-542-3278 for a return authorization (RA) number before sending anything back.
What does the Laserdarts warranty cover?
Every Laserdarts model carries a lifetime barrel guarantee. If a barrel breaks, cracks, or chips through normal use, we replace it free. Knurling wear, coating wear, shafts, flights, points, and any modified or deliberately damaged barrel are not covered. Full terms are on the Warranty page.
My shipment arrived damaged. What now?
Have the delivery driver note the damage on their official delivery record, keep the original carton, and contact us within 48 hours. Without that note on the delivery record a damage claim may be disallowed. We handle the claim from our end.
Wholesale
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. We have supplied dart wholesalers worldwide since 1985, with over $3,000,000 in inventory and same-day shipping on orders received before noon Central. Apply on our Become a Dealer page; you will need a valid resale or tax certificate.
Who makes Horizon Darts and Laserdarts?
